In higher education institutions, a range of non-academic staff support the organisation and delivery of educational, research and administrative activities.

These include administrative personnel, student support staff, quality assurance officers, international relations staff and library personnel. Their roles cover areas such as student services, academic administration, quality assurance processes, research support and international cooperation. The responsibilities, qualification requirements and working conditions of non-academic staff are defined by institutional regulations in accordance with the Law of Georgia on Higher Education and the Labour Code of Georgia.

Higher education institutions may provide professional development opportunities for non-academic staff, particularly in areas such as student services, digital administration and quality assurance.
