11.3.1 Specific support measures

Schools implement a range of interventions designed to ensure equal participation. Most public schools in Georgia are Georgian-language schools. There are ethnic minority schools (in Azerbaijani and Armenian languages) and several Russian-language schools, as well as a newly opened Ukrainian-language school. Georgian-language support is provided for minority learners through bilingual instruction and adapted teaching materials.

Material support measures include the provision of free textbooks and, where necessary, transportation. Transportation services may be organised by municipalities, particularly in rural areas or for learners facing mobility-related challenges.

Schools cooperate with local authorities and social and health services to identify learners at risk and to coordinate support. This includes targeted interventions to prevent school dropout.

Adaptations to assessment and teaching practices are applied when needed to support learning progression.
