1. Bilateral Agreements
Georgia maintains bilateral agreements with a wide range of countries to support cooperation in education, research, and youth policy. Agreements often cover student and staff mobility, joint research activities, language and cultural programmes, and recognition of qualifications.
Key partner countries include Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Lithuania, Turkey, the United States, China, and several neighbouring states. These agreements form the basis for exchange programmes, joint degree development, and cooperative institutional projects.
2. Cooperation and Participation in Worldwide Programmes and Organisations
Georgia participates in global and regional education frameworks, including cooperation with:
-
UNESCO (lifelong learning, education quality, cultural programmes)
-
UNESCO-UNEVOC (vocational education and training cooperation and knowledge sharing)
-
OECD (PISA, TALIS, education policy reviews)
-
UNICEF (inclusive education, early childhood development)
-
World Bank / I2Q Project (education system improvement)
-
Council of Europe (democratic citizenship, language policy)
In addition, international donors — USAID, GIZ, British Council, European Training Foundation — support mobility, institutional development, curriculum reform, and teacher-training initiatives.
