University of Malta (UM)
Administrative staff are employed at UM with the aim to ensure the smooth and effective running of the institution. The administrative structure of the University comprises Deputy Registrars, Senior Executives and Managers at the top level and involves the following administrative staff:

All the administrative staff are employed through a public call and enjoy the same conditions forming part of the University’s collective agreement with the respective workers’ unions.
Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST)
A number of Deputy Principals and Senior Management support the Principal & CEO in the overall management of MCAST and these include Deputy Principal Registrar, Deputy Principal Corporate Services, Deputy Principal Technology & Applied Science, Deputy Principal Arts and Social Science, Deputy Principal Research & Innovation, Deputy Principal Corporate Services, Deputy Principal Curriculum & Student Affairs together with the respective Directors and Managers. All of these are required to sit for an interview following a public call for applications. In order to be accepted for their posts, all must possess the relevant diploma and/or tertiary qualifications. Directors and Mangers are covered by a collective agreement.
Institute for Tourism Studies (ITS)
The running of ITS is made up of other department managers or heads, who address the various operational departments of the Institute. Each respective department is led by a head (manager) and is typically supported by a number of other roles in maintaining the operation of the Institute. To date the Institute has various departments managing its operation, mainly Academia, Human Resource, Information Technology, Property, Finance, Stores and Security amongst others.
Institute for Education (IFE)
Non-Academic staff support the Chief Executive Officer in the running of the Institute for Education. These include Head (Admissions), Head (Quality Assurance), Head (Programmes), Head (Finance), Senior Manager Administration, Senior Manager Research and Development, Senior Manager School of Research, and Senior Manager Work Integrated Learning. These posts are filled following the issuing of a public call. Officials occupying these posts are covered by a collective agreement entered into by a workers’ union and the Ministry responsible for education.
