There is no home-based provision in Malta, neither at Childcare level nor at Kindergarten level. While home-based provision was permitted by the 2006 National Standards for Child Day Care Facilities, this is not contemplated in the childcare standards issued in 2021, which provide for Centre-Based Childcare Centres and Work-Based Childcare Centres only.
