Student Assessment

In vocational education, student assessment includes continuous evaluation, practical assignments, theoretical exams, and work-based project assessments. Assessment is conducted throughout the academic year and is aligned with the National Qualifications Framework. Continuous assessment is mandatory and typically conducted by module, with both practical competencies and theoretical knowledge evaluated. Institutions are required to offer retake opportunities for students who miss assessments for valid reasons, as stipulated by Article 6 of the Law on Vocational Education (2018).

Progression of Students

Progression within vocational programs is based on the successful completion of individual modules. Students must achieve a minimum passing grade in both general education and vocational modules to move forward in their program. Supplementary or retake opportunities are available for students who do not meet the required standards, in accordance with institutional rules and national regulations (Law on Vocational Education, Article 6).

Certification

Upon successful completion of a vocational program that integrates general education components, students are awarded a Diploma of Vocational Education, which includes recognition of both vocational qualifications and full general secondary education. This diploma is considered equivalent to a Certificate of Secondary General Education and qualifies graduates for access to higher education or entry into the labor market (Law on Vocational Education, Article 16).
