Digital skills, artificial intelligence and career support
Status: Ongoing / Implemented

Description of the main measures
In 2025, reforms related to transversal skills and employability focused on strengthening digital competences, innovation and career guidance systems.

Training programmes were introduced to support teachers in the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in teaching. An advanced training programme for teachers on the integration of artificial intelligence in education was launched in cooperation with higher education institutions and training providers.

A guide for the ethical and safe use of artificial intelligence in education was also developed to support teachers and educational institutions in integrating AI into teaching practices.

Additional reforms included strengthening career development and employability through improved cooperation between schools, employers and social partners, as well as professional development programmes for teachers and mentors.

2024

Developing green skills and strengthening career guidance
Status: Implemented

Description of the main measures
In 2024, reforms focused on integrating green and digital skills into vocational education programmes and strengthening career guidance and mentoring systems.

New curricula incorporating green skills were developed across multiple vocational sectors in order to improve the relevance of education to labour market needs and support sustainable economic development.

Teacher training programmes were also organised to strengthen teachers’ capacities for implementing new curricula and supporting work-based learning. Training sessions for teachers, mentors and education inspectors were conducted to improve the quality of the teaching process and the supervision of vocational education programmes.

These reforms aim to improve students’ employability by strengthening transversal competences such as problem-solving, digital literacy and teamwork.
