Introduction

Teachers and other education staff in North Macedonia are employed across early childhood education and care, school education, higher education and adult education. Their roles, qualifications and working conditions are defined by national legislation and sector-specific regulations.

Initial education, recruitment, working conditions and continuing professional development are organised within each education sector. These arrangements aim to ensure the quality of teaching and support professional development throughout their careers.
