2.8Statistics on educational institutions

This section presents the latest data on the number of educational institutions from pre-primary to secondary levels. According to the data, public schools/institutions constitute the majority across all levels. While the proportion of private schools is relatively low in pre-primary, primary, and secondary education, their share increases in general secondary education. Vocational and technical education is predominantly offered in public institutions. All imam hatip lower secondary schools and Anatolian imam hatip high schools are public institutions. In non-formal education, the number of private institutions exceeds that of public institutions.

Note 1: In pre-primary education, 19,510 public schools and 1,319 private schools with kindergarten classes are not included in the total number of schools.
