Appointments and Assignments

Appointments and assignments in adult education and training are made according to the Regulation on the Selection and Assignment of Administrators to Educational Institutions Affiliated to the Ministry of National Education.

Duties, Authorities and Responsibilities

Principals and vice-principals in MoNE-affiliated educational institutions are authorized with specific duties and responsibilities to manage educational processes, coordinate academic and administrative functioning, increase institutional efficiency and contribute to the development of students.

Duties, Authorities and Responsibilities of the Director

At the beginning of the academic year, the principal divides the work of the staff and notifies their duties in writing. He/she plans the courses to be taught by teachers and laboratory-workshop activities. He/she ensures that educational resources are available in the school and notifies the relevant units of any deficiencies. Coordinates the preparation of the annual lesson plans by organizing the meetings of the council of teachers and supervises the conformity of the lessons to their objectives. 

The principal ensures that the school’s classrooms, laboratories, workshops, libraries and other educational areas are prepared and developed for continuous education. He/she decides for the educational institution to cooperate with local administrations, businesses and related organizations to make students’ internships and practical training more efficient. Conducts regular meetings with the board of teachers, department meetings and guidance teachers in order to improve education and training activities.

The principal takes all necessary measures to ensure discipline and order. Encourages the professional development of teachers and staff and ensures the training of candidate teachers. He/she creates the school’s strategic plan, decides to achieve the goals and monitors performance. He/she also takes decisions on issues such as the security of the school building, the duty of teachers on duty and the rewarding of teachers. The principal establishes and ensures the effective functioning of the PTA and manages performance monitoring processes. They lead the development of projects for the protection and promotion of cultural heritage. The principal is also responsible for organizing face-to-face trainings for open education schools, carrying out procedures related to the e-Yaygın system and ensuring the efficient operation of revolving fund enterprises.

Duties, Authorities and Responsibilities of Assistant Principals

Assistant principals provide support to the principal in school management and ensure that educational activities are carried out in an organized manner. They prepare the school’s annual work plan, ensure that educational programs are organized in accordance with the needs of the environment and coordinate the effective implementation of the programs determined by the Ministry of National Education. It contributes to the efficient functioning of educational processes by ensuring coordination between teachers and master trainers. They also support the improvement of the quality of education by managing the research, development, project studies and strategic planning processes carried out in the school. 

An assistant principal provides information and guidance services for candidate teachers and master teachers and supports their professional development. Follows all processes related to registration, admission, attendance, discipline and student affairs and ensures that the necessary books, files and documents are kept in order. Ensures that the physical environment is suitable for education by being responsible for the maintenance, repair and organization of school buildings, facilities and equipment. Prepares shift schedules and controls the duty of teachers and other staff members.

Distributes the syllabi to teachers and master teachers and ensures the preparation of the relevant schedules. Ensures that the school’s resources are used effectively by carrying out purchasing transactions in accordance with the relevant legislation. Supports the professional development of teachers and staff by organizing in-service trainings, courses and seminars organized by MoNE. Supervises material procurement, production and ordering processes by organizing the functioning of revolving capital enterprises. Ensures the efficient use of the school’s budgetary resources while carrying out salary, additional course and other financial transactions. 

Contributes to the healthy execution of distance education processes by organizing the distribution of course materials and books for open education schools. By ensuring that student certificates and diplomas are prepared electronically, the documents are archived and distributed securely. Taking emergency measures within the scope of occupational health and safety and cooperating with relevant organizations are also among the responsibilities of assistant principals. By fulfilling these duties, they contribute to the orderly management of the school, the uninterrupted continuation of education and training processes and the provision of the best educational environment to students.
