7.2.2. SHORT-CYCLE HIGHER EDUCATION

 

Macedonian Law on Higher Education (Official Gazette no. 82/2018) provides possibility for organization of short-cycle vocational education within the first study cycle. However, no short-cycle study programs have been accredited yet by the Accreditation Board of the Agency for Quality in Higher Education.

According to the Article 137 (4), the short cycle study programs last 2 years, offers 60 to 120 ECTS credits (60 ECTS credits for one year), and after completing the study program requirements the candidate is awarded a relevant vocational title and is issued a credential (uverenie). The earned competences correspond to the level V A level certificate for the short cycle programs from the National Qualification Framework (NQF) and level V from the European Qualification Framework (EQF).
