6.2.2 Short-Cycle Higher Education 

Short-cycle higher education does not exist within the Icelandic tertiary education sector. There are no nationally recognised short-cycle programmes equivalent to the foundation degree or associate degree found in some other European countries. Some institutions offer diploma programmes (60–120 ECTS), but these are not classified as a separate cycle within the NQF.
