10. MANAGEMENT AND OTHER EDUCATION STAFF
Introduction
The Management of the public educational institutions in the country is regulated by Laws and Bylaws for each educational level separately. For the ECEC sector the Law for Child protection regulates the conditions of appointment and the work of the Principal, as well as the other governing bodies (like the Management Board). The appointment and service of the Principals in the primary (including lower secondary) and secondary (upper secondary) schools are regulated by the Law for primary education and Law for secondary education, as well as bylaws for the competencies for the school Principals. The Laws also regulate the Governance bodies of the schools like the School Board, Teacher Council, Parents Council. In the Higher education sector the Governance structure is regulated by the Law for Higher Education. The Management and Governance of Higher education institutions are done by several bodies: University Senate, Rector and Rectors Board. In the adult education sector the management is regulated by the Law for Institutions for Lifelong Learning. According to the Law the management is done by the Principal of the institution and the Board of the institution.
