An institution that carries out adult education is managed by a head. The institution’s head acts as a pedagogical, i.e. andragogical manager as well. A person may be appointed as head of adult education provider if they have:

  • level VI or VII1 of national qualifications framework;
  • five years of work experience.

Institutions of higher, secondary and primary education have adult education coordinators who are licensed to work in the field of adult education. They organize adult education provision at these institutions, draw up a plan and schedule of activities, form groups of learners that attend the programmes, keep records on teaching staff and learners, etc.

At larger adult education providers within private institutions, there are teaching/training providers that plan and organize adult education activities, provide support to teaching staff that carries out education programmes, prepare supporting materials for teaching/training, keep records of teachers and learners, etc.

Adult education providers have a service or an employed person that performs administrative and commercial tasks.
