Academic Guidance

Academic guidance is provided through the Interactive Study Prospectus and the annual Open Day, which represents a central institutional event aimed at supporting prospective students in making informed study choices. During the Open Day, all faculties, as well as university centers and support offices, present their academic offer, study programmes, and available student services. 

This event enables high school graduates to engage directly with faculty representatives, ask questions and receive detailed information about specific study programmes, available study tracks, admission requirements and entrance exams where applicable. Through this direct interaction, students gain a clearer understanding of academic expectations and opportunities, which supports their transition from secondary to higher education.

Interactive Study Prospectus of the University of Montenegro is designed as a comprehensive and reliable guide through current educational offer of the University. It is intended primarily for prospective students, but also for other interested users who want to learn about enrolment opportunities at the state university. 

The guide contains an overview of all accredited study programs offered by faculties and academies within the University of Montenegro. For each study program, key information is provided on content and structure of studies, admission requirements, and opportunities for further education.
In addition to formal data, the Prospectus aims to help future students make informed decisions about continuing their education, based on clear and reliable information, in line with their interests, abilities, and ambitions.

The Office of Support for Students with Disabilities of the the University of Montenegro (KAPSIN) takes part in the University of Montenegro Open Days. During the event, representatives of the Office present to high-school graduates, as well as with their teachers and school management representatives support that the University of Montenegro provides to students with disabilities. Visitors are informed about the ways in which the University ensures a more accessible and inclusive academic environment.

Psychological counselling

Psychological counseling services are not yet formally established but are provided within the Health Centre of the Student Clinic.

Career Guidance

Career guidance is also supported at the national level through the Career Guidance and Counseling Strategy 2025-2030, which foresees the development of guidelines and the implementation of training programmes for professors and career advisors in higher education institutions. 

In addition to academic guidance, the University of Montenegro, through its Career Development and Lifelong Learning Office, offers a wide range of activities aimed at supporting students in their transition to the labour market. These activities are designed to bridge the gap between education and employment by providing students with practical skills, direct contact with employers and insights into the professional environment. 

One of the key activities includes the organization of internship and career fairs, which bring together students and employers from various sectors. These events enable students to explore internship and employment opportunities during their studies, while also allowing them to gain valuable insights into the operations, expectations and organizational cultures of companies in Montenegro through direct interaction.  

In addition, the Office organizes workshops focused on job application skills, including CV and motivation letter writing, as well as interview simulations conducted in cooperation with employers and alumni. Furthermore, soft skills workshops are delivered in collaboration with employers, helping students develop competencies such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability, which are essential for the modern labour market.
