Academic guidance

Higher education institutions (HEI) have the autonomy to decide on the provision of academic and career guidance for their students, as well as psychological counselling.

Most HEI have services to support students in several areas, such as adapting to higher education, changing academic pathway, such as cycle transition, change of course and/or HEI, professional placement, careers advice and psychological support, amongst others.

Psychological counselling

In relation to higher education, HEI have the autonomy to decide on the provision of psychological counselling of their students.

Some have support services in these areas, including clinical advice and therapy, amongst others.

Career guidance

In relation to higher education, HEI have the autonomy to decide on the provision of career/vocational guidance for their students.

Some HEI provide this type of student support service, such as job finding and career guidance.
