4.4. Home-based provision

А small number of children attend home-based early childhood education and care provision at the provider’s home. This area is the responsibility of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy but is largely organised by local authorities. There are requirements for specific qualifications (at least a high school diploma and a valid caregiver licence) and national regulations on the maximum number of children per childminder (up to five children).
