9.9Continuing professional development for teachers and trainers working in adult education and training

Last update: 12 April 2024

The continuing professional development (CPD) of teachers at basic schools (základní školy), upper secondary schools (střední školy), conservatoires (konzervatoře) and tertiary professional schools (vyšší odborné školy) is stipulated by the Act on Education Staff and related decrees. If schools also offer courses of further adult education, the CPD of teachers in these courses is not specifically set by law.

The same applies to the academic staff working with adults at higher education institutions.

Continuing professional development of teachers/trainers working for commercial institutions, various professional associations or non-profit institutions depends on the employer and is generally regulated by the Labour Code.
