9.9Continuing professional development for teachers and trainers working in adult education and training

Further education of people who teach adults is governed by the act on teaching staff and specialists (see  Continuing Professional Development for Teachers Working in Early Childhood and School Education), particularly regarding:

  • primary and secondary teachers,
  • masters of vocational training, 
  • teachers providing continuing education.

Further education of academic staff teaching adults at higher education institutions is described in detail in chapter Continuing Professional Development for Academic Staff Working in Higher Education.

Further education of teachers, lecturers and trainers working in different professional organisation, associations, unions, non-profit and commercial institutions is determined by their employers and their customers’ requirements. It is governed by applicable Labour Code regulations.
