Teachers in specialised career positions have reduced hours of direct education time when performing specialised activities in their career positions.
In addition to pedagogical staff, schools and school facilities have professional staff who provide support and guidance to pedagogical staff, children, pupils and legal guardians. The school speech therapist provides intervention and counselling to children and pupils with impaired communication skills, their legal representatives and teachers.
The special educator assists children and pupils with special educational needs or at-risk development, also focuses on the re-education of learning and behavioural disorders, and provides counselling to legal representatives and teachers.

The social pedagogue carries out diagnostic, preventive and other necessary activities aimed at the prevention and elimination of risky behaviour of children and pupils and the prevention and elimination of socio-pathological phenomena, including activities to prevent the segregation of children and pupils. The social pedagogue provides advice and consultation to legal representatives and pedagogical staff.
School psychologists and special pedagogues may also carry out specialised activities as educational and career advisors.
Professional staff carry out their activities directly in schools or in counselling and prevention centres and social assistance facilities.
