Adult education and training is offered through a number of institutions in higher education, secondary education, vocational training courses, and non-formal courses.

Higher Education

The Open University (Ανοικτό Πανεπιστήμιο) is offering Vocational programs and continuing education in undergraduate and graduate degrees.

The Mediterranean Institute of Management (Μεσογειακό Ινστιτούτο Διεύθυνσης) is offering Postgraduate degrees in Business Administration and Public Administration.

The Higher Hotel Institute of Cyprus (HHIC) (Ανώτερο Ξενοδοχειακό Ινστιστούτο) is offering a program for students who want to work in the tourism industry.

The Cyprus Forestry College (Δασικό Κολλέγιο Κύπρου) is offering courses for prospective employees of Cyprus forests.

The Police Academy of Cyprus (Αστυνομική Ακαδημία Κύπρου) is offering courses for prospective employees in the Police Department.

The Pedagogical Institute (Παιδιαγωγικό Ινστιτούτο) is offering compulsory and optional courses to teachers at all levels of school education – pre-primary, primary and secondary.

Public Administration

The Cyprus Academy of Public Administration (Ακαδημία Δημόσιας  Διοίκησης) is offering seminars, workshops and day events to Civil Servants

Secondary and Post-secondary education

The Post Secondary Institutes of Vocational Education and Training (Μεταλυκειακά Ινστιτούτα Επαγγελματικής Εκπαίδευσης και Κατάρτισης) are offering Post Lyceum Technical Education.

The Evening Technical Schools (Βραδινές Τεχνικές Σχολές) are offering high school night classes to adults.

The Evening Gymnasiums/Lyceums (Νυχτερινά Γυμνάσια/Λύκεια) are offering night classes for adult high school students.

The Apprenticeship Scheme, operating since 1963, offers both technical education and in-company training to students 14-21 years old. The current Apprenticeship Scheme is a joint responsibility of the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance and the Ministry of Education and Culture. The current Apprenticeship Scheme is replaced by the New Modern Apprenticeship (2015).

Vocational training

The Cyprus Productivity Centre (Κέντρο Παραγωγικότητας) is offering Courses for employees in technical occupations to upgrade their skills and knowledge

The Human Resource Development Authority - HRDA (Αρχή Ανάπτυξης Ανθρώπινου Δυναμικού) is offering subsidized training programs being implemented by public or private institutions and enterprises to adults working in the industry. HRDA is also responsible for re-integrating unemployed individuals into the labor market.

Private companies run training programs for their personnel, aiming to satisfy their short- or long-term needs. Private training centers also provide continuing education courses often subsidized by the HRDA.

Non-formal Institutions

The State Institutes of Further Education (Κρατικά Ινστιτούτα Επιμόρφωσης) is offering lessons in foreign languages, computer studies, and accounting.

The Adult Education Centers (Επιμορφωτικά Κέντρα) offer various classes to adults to develop their social, personal and professional skills.

The Private Institutes (Ιδιωτικά Φροντιστήρια) are offering classes of foreign languages, computer studies and accounting for adults and coaching for external examinations.
