FEES

• All students pay fees.

• Students in integrated programmes (5-6 years) are also required to pay fees.

• Part-time students, international students, students studying in a foreign language and students with extended length of study in first and second cycles pay higher fees.

• Student on non-state subsidised places, studying in a specific field or programme in foreign language pay higher fees in both first and second cycles. Study disciplines that traditionally have higher fess are: Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, Architecture, Art, Engineering. 

• Students with extended length of study pay higher fees.

• 35% of the home full-time students and 100% of the home part-timers pay fees in first cycle. 29% of the full-time home students and 100% of the part-timers pay fees in second cycle. Data on share of international fees payers is not available. A small percentage of international students are exempt from paying fees. Students enrolled in integrated undergraduate and graduate studies are included in the share reported for first cycle.

DIRECT FINANCIAL SUPPORT - GRANTS

• Need-based and merit-based grants are available to full-time first and second cycle home students and are paid in 9 monthly instalments

• State Scholarships for Students in STEM fields are provided to: full-time home and EU/EA/EFTA students, and full-time students who have international or temporary protection according to the Law on International and Temporary Protection.
• State Scholarships Based on Socio-Economic Status are awarded following a public competition. 12 000 grants to full-time home students were awarded in 2023/2024.
• 12% of the students in fist cycle are grant beneficiaries.

DIRECT FINANCIAL SUPPORT - LOANS

• Loans are not available
