FEES

Home students pay tuition fees for full-time studies in first and second cycle study programmes provided by public higher education institutions, provided that they have already attained a level of education corresponding to at least the level of education obtained in the study programme in which they are enrolled or have not yet attained a level of education corresponding to at least the level of education obtained in the study programme in which they are enrolled and their student status has ceased in accordance with the law regulating higher education in their previous study programme.

DIRECT FINANCIAL SUPPORT - GRANTS

Needs based and merit based grants are offered to home and international full-time students.
- Additional merit-based scholarships are available to home full-time students:
- Zois Scholarships** are intended for students pursuing education at the 1st or 2nd level as an incentive for achieving outstanding accomplishments and creating added value in the fields of knowledge, research, development, and the arts. They are awarded for 1st or 2nd level studies, either in Slovenia or abroad.
- Scholarships for Slovenians living abroad** are intended for members of the indigenous Slovenian national community in neighboring countries and descendants of Slovenian emigrants for 1st or 2nd level studies in the Republic of Slovenia. The basic purpose of the scholarship programme is to promote connections of young Slovenians living abroad with their homeland.
- Ad Futura Scholarships** are designed to promote the education of young people abroad. They are awarded for both short-term study visits and international competitions abroad for students studying in Slovenia and for full time 1st and 2nd level studies abroad. - The minimum amount for the need -based scholarship includes the minimum amount that one can receive for State Scholarship (without additional allowances). The maximum amount for the need based scholarship includes the maximum amount of the State Scholarship (EUR 269.74 per month) with the highest possible allowances (allowance for good grades - max. amount of EUR 49.39 per month, accommodation - EUR 98.76 per month, special needs allowance - EUR 61.73 per month).
- Merit-based scholarships for second cycle international full-time students:
- Scholarships for Postgraduate Studies of Foreign Nationals in Slovenia on the Basis of Development Agreements are granted to nationals of countries that are beneficiaries or recipients of development assistance. The country of origin is defined in each call for application. In 2023/2024 the recipients were students from State of Palestine and Republic of Angola. -
There is no age limit for students to receive a grant.
