FEES

Short cycle does not exist in Norwegian Higher Education. Short-cycle programmes are available within VET and ISCED 5 (5.2 in the Norwegian qualification framework).

International students pay higher fees (no data available). They may not be accepted to part-time programmes.

Home students are expected to pay administrative fees, which may or may not exceed 100 Euro.

DIRECT FINANCIAL SUPPORT - GRANTS

Needs based and universal grants are offered to full and part-time home students.

Need-based grants also include grants based on extra support for students with children, and extra grants for reduced functional ability. Older students (over 30) may also apply for additional loans.

Some international students, with certain ties to the Kingdom may be offered grants through the State bank for education.

International students are not included in the grants from Lånekassen. Merit based grants are not offered in Lånekassen, and the need-based grants are for reduced functional ability.

Grants are given for a duration of 11 months.

The age limit for access to grants is 65 years.

DIRECT FINANCIAL SUPPORT - LOANS

Home full and part-time students are eligible to apply for loans.

International students are not included in the loans from Lånekassen, apart from Ukrainian refugees and students that have self-finaced 3 years study in Norway. Short cycle does not exist in the Norwegian HE system, it is part of VET (ISCED 5).

The age limit for access to loans is 65 years.
