This chapter discusses teachers and education staff in Albania. It includes all levels of education from basic education to higher education. Pre-university education is currently undergoing a reform process involving the whole education system, such as curriculum documentation, organization and assessment of learning outcomes, reforming initial training systems, qualification and professional development of teachers. Reform on pre-university education during 2016-2017, was focused at increasing the quality of education by further implementing the new competence-based curricula that orients the process of pupil formation towards lifelong learning. During school year 2016-2017 the new curricula was implemented at all second and seventh classes and is being piloted at 26 third and eighth classes in 13 RED/EOs.
