Curricula

Upper secondary vocational education [Arsimi i mesëm profesional] has a variable duration from two to four years and is structured in three levels based on Albanian Qualification Framework (AQF) levels. Vpcational education curricula and respective yearly teaching plans are drafted in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and Economy who is the institution in charge for vocational education and training. The Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth is responsible only concerning the general part of their curricula while the Ministry of Finance and Economy in cooperation with the National Agency for Vocational Education and Training drafts the part of the curricula that concerns the specificities of respective professions.

Specialization of students

Students that complete this type of upper secondary education have the following choices:

1. They can directly approach the labor market based on respective skills learnt in schools

2. They can follow further the higher education

Teaching methods and materials

The vocational programmes in difference from other types of upper secondary education are distinguished since they are composed by the general curricula which is similar to that followed in general upper secondary education, the subjects related to their specific specialization and the subjects by choice. Subjects that relate to specific specialization take place in theory and in practice where the respective student can exercise aspects of respective specialization.
