OVERVIEW

  • In Finland home students do not pay fees. International students are required to pay fees if they are enrolled in programmes taught in a foreign language.
  • Short cycle and part-time programmes are not available.
  • Fee differentiation informed by the field of study may be applied by the higher education institutions.
  • There is no national policy on waivers and reductions. Decisions are left at the discretion of the Higher Education Institutions.
  • Direct financial support is offered in the forms of universal grants and loans, which can be combined. In addition, students can receive general housing allowance.
  • Indirect financial support is not available. Some additional subsidies (meals, student loan compensation) are available.
