11.3Quality assurance in adult education and training

In institutions of formal adult education, quality assurance is performed in the same way as in general education schools. More information see in Chapter Quality Assurance in Early Childhood and School Education.

Valuation of activities of non-formal adult education providers is not a subject of regulation. As of the 1st of January 2015 the Law of Non-formal Adult Education and Continuing Learning came into force. It provides that the quality improvement of non-formal adult education and long-lasting education, self-assessment of the work,external evaluation, self-evaluation of the progress and achievements of the participants,financed by the state and (or) municipal budgets, the procedure of quality assurance will be established by the Government, after consulting with the Lithuanian Non-formal Adult Education Council.
