The organisation of the academic year in Slovenia is as follows:

Beginning of the academic year	1 October
End of the academic year	30 September
Period(s) when there are teaching activities :
Teaching activity – winter semester	15 weeks on average
Teaching activity – summer semester	15 weeks on average
Period(s) of examination:
Winter examinations during winter holidays period:	4 weeks in January and February
Spring examinations	4 weeks in June and July
Autumn examinations	4 weeks from mid-August to end of September
Breaks between the teaching activities excluding the examination period:
