The organisation of the academic year 2024 /2025 in the French Community of Belgium is as follows : 

 

Beginning of the academic year 14 September
Period(s) when there are teaching activities

The first term starts on 14 September 2024 ; the second on 1 February 2025 ; the third on 1 July 2025. 

The two first terms include at least 12 weeks of teaching activity. 

For purposes of curricular organisation, each of the three four-month terms includes assessment and holiday periods.

Period(s) of examination

Each of these first two terms involves at least 12 weeks of activity and may not exceed four months. A period of assessment occurs at the end of each term.

The third term includes assessment periods (as well as professional integration or personal project activity).

Institutional autonomy

End of the academic year 13 September of the next year
Breaks between the teaching activities excluding the examination period, if significant

Winter holidays : 2 weeks

Spring holidays : 2 weeks

Summer holidays : 1 July – 13 September 2025

The third interval includes, when applicable, assessment periods, professional integration or personal work activities for student concerned. It is usually considered as summer holidays for students not concerned by those activities.
