The organisation of the academic year 2024/2025 in Norway is as follows:
| Beginning of the academic year | Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are autonomous. Generally mid-August. |
| Periods when there are teaching activities | HEIs are autonomous but in general August–December and January–June |
| Periods of examination | HEIs are autonomous but in general November–December and May–June |
| End of the academic year | HEIs are autonomous. The academic year generally ends by mid-June. |
| Breaks between the teaching activities excluding the examination period | Christmas, Easter and summer holidays |
