- Teachers’ remuneration is regulated by top-level authorities.
- The minimum qualification requirement for teachers at pre-primary level is ISCED 5 and ISCED 6 for all other levels in pedagogy and professional teacher's qualification (including in-school placement, final examinations and diploma thesis) In addition, teachers undergo competitive examination.
- Salary progression of teachers is determined by the school heads. It is subject to years in service and professional evaluation.
- Teachers do not have civil servant status. General labour regulation applies to teachers. The employment status of teachers is contractual. According to the Labour law, schools must sign permanent contracts with teachers.
