Academic guidance

The Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education (AVETAE) develops programmes and strategic frameworks for lifelong learning. The Agency works to strengthen the capacities and professional competencies of adult education staff, including components related to support for learners.

According to the Adult Education Act, within adult education, the adult education leader is responsible for the career guidance and development of pupils, which includes advisory assistance and support in going through education and evaluation programmes. This ensures the organisation of the entire education process, assessment and guidance of learners in choosing a programme, monitoring of evaluation results, and managing prescribed documentation.

Psychological counselling

There are no specific regulations on this area in the legislation concerning adult education.

Career guidance and counselling

Career guidance is provided via public information and counselling services (career centres, online portals), institutional career coordinators within adult‑education providers, and partnerships with employers and local stakeholders

The Croatian Employment Service (CES) Career Information and Counselling Centres (CISOK) improve the personal potential of users for lifelong career development. CISOK provides free advice and information related to searching for and creating professional and educational opportunities.
