Specific support measures

Higher education institutions have full autonomy regarding support measures to different student groups. However, many institutions apply a system of personal study plans that facilitate the planning of studies and the monitoring of progress in studies. In addition these plans support student guidance and counselling.

The student’s home municipality is responsible for granting different types of services and support based on the legislation. The students have a subjective right to certain services, while some services are dependent on the local budgets. Services that must be provided to persons with disabilities are for example personal support and transport services, certain services related to housing and funding for education and training under certain conditions.
