Introducing systematic, individual career development strategies, both for permanent and temporary staff, is increasingly promoted at institutional level. It is seen as a natural part of your post to continue pursuing a professional development. Institutions provide a variety of internal courses for their staff, but it varies how far the institutions have come in introducing systematic, individual career development strategies. Examples of courses at individual institutions are:

  • Teacher training courses
  • Courses on supervision
  • Development program for research leaders
  • Department leadership
  • Careere development courses for female researchers
  • Mentoring programmes for female researchers
  • Courses of personal effectiveness
  • Academic English
