Ireland: Applications open for schools to receive funding under the Creative Clusters initiative

Minister for Education Norma Foley TD has recently invited schools and YouthReach centres across Ireland to apply to take part in Creative Clusters for the two years commencing September 2024. Belgium (DE): Government takes action to reduce secondary school costs

The government has announced plans to alleviate the financial burden on East Belgian families by implementing measures to reduce school attendance costs for secondary school pupils. Starting from September, a new annual subsidy of 100 euros per secondary school pupil will be introduced. This subsidy aims to eliminate charges for copies, diaries, and the issuing of leaving certificates, providing relief for parents.

Belgium (DE): The DuO training grant initiative for a skilled workforce

To counteract the shortage of skilled workers, the government of the German-speaking Community wants to rely on a combination of several measures by introducing the DuO training grant. Inspired by successful models implemented in South Tyrol and some Austrian provinces, its aim is to attract more candidates to pursue studies or training in occupations facing shortages, and at the same time retain these professionals in East Belgium.

Belgium (FR): Introducing the DAccE - revolutionising education for every pupil

In September 2023, Belgium launched a groundbreaking tool known as the DAccE (Dossier accompaniment de l'Élève = Pupil’s Accompanying File). Initially implemented for students from the 1st year of Pre-Primary education to the 4th year of Primary education in mainstream schools, its reach will gradually expand to encompass all students within the core curriculum of ordinary and specialised compulsory education.
