The Norwegian Government has implemented a holistic approach to raise the skills of employees in kindergartens and in primary and secondary schools.

The Norwegian Government has implemented a holistic strategy for continuing education for all employees in kindergartens, primary and secondary school. This programme is a measure to recruit and keep qualified employees. Additionally, it ensures that the workforce in the Norwegian education sector possesses the skills to perform their jobs effectively.

The strategy is inclusive of all education sector employees, including teachers, school leaders, support staff, and professionals with vocational training, such as youth care workers and childcare professionals, regardless of their educational background. It offers continuing education opportunities through universities, colleges, and vocational schools, with state support for municipalities and private owners. Newly qualified teachers in kindergartens and schools will be offered professional guidance to support their transition into the workforce.
