Croatian Academic and Research Network – CARNET is the beneficiary of the programme e-Schools: a comprehensive informatisation of school operations and teaching processes aimed at the creation of digitally performant schools for the 21st century”, conducted from 2015 to 2022.

Based on the experience and results gained through the pilot project, CARNET launched the second phase of the programme “e-Schools: Development of the System of Digital Schools (Phase II)”, worth 1.3 billion HRK. Following a decision by the Ministry of Science and Education, the teaching and operation processes in all state-financed Croatian schools will be digitally transformed by December 31, 2022.

The overall objective of the e-Schools programme is to contribute to the empowerment of the primary and secondary education system capacities while enabling students to become active participants of the labour market, pursue further education and engage in life-long learning.

The main goal of the second phase is to focus on enhancing the digital transformation of teaching and administrative processes in the education system, thus empowering the students with skills and competences for life and work in the 21st century.

The second phase of the programme is financed from the European Regional Development Fund, European Social Fund and the state budget.
