A state of play was carried out between May and November 2022, in order to identify the findings and key messages relating to dual Vocational Education and Training (VET), as well as to VET in general.

Based on the findings outlined in the state of play, on 9^th February 2023 the Government of the French Community adopted a roadmap for transversal improvement.

This state of play now makes it possible to make the right diagnoses and foresee appropriate reforms. It is therefore necessary to maintain an ongoing dialogue between entities and governments, in order to jointly devise a systemic reform of VET, including, in particular, dual VET. These pathways must be perceived as more attractive, be this from the point of view of young people, their families, or companies. Qualifying and vocational education and training – and dual VET – must become pathways for excellence.
