The German-speaking Community continues its work to improve the well-being of its teaching staff.  The German-speaking Community has seen over the last years a significant increase in absences due to long-term illness in the teaching sector, and the government is therefore proposing a series of measures aimed at promoting and supporting the professional reintegration of staff members who have been absent over long periods.

Three new measures have recently been introduced to address these issues: measures in support of the professional reintegration of staff members who are absent due to illness, end-of-career measures for management functions, and increased leave allowances for staff members at level I.
