Data present changes in the annual gross minimum statutory salaries of newly fully qualified teachers between any two selected reference school years, at four career stages per education level (ISCED).
To adjust for inflation, salaries are converted in constant prices calculated by using the harmonized index of consumer price (HICP). More information is available in the Quality framework and the Glossary.
The diagram depicts the percentage change of the minimum statutory salaries of newly fully qualified teachers entering the profession with the minimum qualification in the reference year.
Important fluctuations may be informed by change of methodology in regulations or other steering documents and applied to the salary composition (i.e. including additional payments, changes in the fixed and variable parts, etc.). Changes in methodology are presented as "break in time series". Details on the countries concerned are available when clicking on the info sign in the top right corner.
