Teachers’ remuneration is regulated by top-level authorities for all education levels.
The minimum qualification required for teachers at all levels is ISCED 6 obtained in the relevant filed.
Salary progression of teachers depends on: 1) years of service, 2) generalist (classroom) teacher or field teacher, 3) knowledge of a foreign language (up to three), 4) marital status (in case the spouse is unemployed). These criteria (excluding 2) are valid for all educational cycles.
Teachers are civil servants.
