Other functions in secondary and higher education institutions are performed by staff from different categories.

The administrative branch

Staff in the administrative branch perform steering and management functions, mainly in the fields of finance and accounting, property management, human resources and schooling. 

They are divided into three categories: 

National education psychologists

Decree No. 2017-120 of 1 February 2017 creates the corps of national education psychologists into which are integrated school teachers who used to perform the functions of school psychologist as well as guidance counsellors-psychologists in secondary education and directors of information and guidance centres. The new corps of educational psychologists consists of two specialties:

In adult education and training, mechanisms are conceived and implemented for specific target groups: disabled individuals, or illiterate individuals.

Specific support measures

Mechanisms for illiterate individuals are explained in the chapter regarding adult education.

Two main measures exist for supporting disabled individuals into adult education.

In Higher Education, disabled students benefit from specific measures of support: specific educational material, facilitated access to Higher education institutions, accommodations for exams, etc.

Students from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds and foreign students can benefit from financial support.

The French education system implements various mechanisms to ensure the success of students from disadvantaged socio-economic and / or linguistic-cultural backgrounds.
