According to l. 4957/2022, Departments or single-disciplinary Schools of Higher Education Institutions may organize, in parallel with the first cycle programmes of study, a special minor degree programme in the scientific field of the Department or the single-disciplinary School.The duration of the minor degree programme shall be at least one academic year and the educational activities shall correspond to at least 60 credit hours.Minor programmes are offered exclusively to students enrolled in other departments of the same higher education institution who are studying in first cycle programmes of study. Successful completion of a minor course of study leads to the award of a distinctive title of the minor course of study by the Department where it is organised. A prerequisite for the award of the title is the completion of the first cycle programme of study in which the student was enrolled.
In addition, short courses of study may be established, the successful completion of which shall lead to the award of a short degree. Short-term study programmes may include educational activities corresponding to 30 to 60 credit units and covering a scientific field or a combination of scientific fields. The programmes are open to all registered students enrolled in first cycle of programmes of studies in a higher education institution or another higher education institution in the country, as well as to students from foreign higher education institutions.
According to l. 4957/2022, Higher Education Institutions (HEI) may organise winter and summer study programmes, which are addressed to students of higher education institutions in Greece or abroad. Summer programmes are established by decision of the Senate of the higher education institution and may be subject to tuition fees, the amount of which is specified in the decision establishing the winter or summer programmes. The same decision shall specify matters relating to the operation of the winter or summer programmes of study, the duration of the programmes, the procedure for the registration of students, the content of the programmes, the credit units that may be awarded, the language of the programmes, which may be other than Greek, and other relevant details.
